A Few Standards:

What do I want out of my foundation? It must be vegan, cruelty free, and long-lasting. Longevity is a HUGE factor for me because I like my foundation to hold up throughout my long days (minimum 8-hours is required). It can’t break apart throughout the day,

it can’t break me out or clog my pores, and it can’t get patchy since I do layer on bronzer, blush, and highlighter. It must also perform well with and without a primer. I will test the foundation WITH and WITHOUT primer, but my decision to buy the product or not will ultimately be based on how it applies with a primer and with a brush since that’s what I use. I am OILY, and I do prefer a full-coverage foundation and I do prefer the finish to be matte, but for the sake of this blog, I will try pretty much any formulation and any kind: natural, dewy, etc.

Disclaimer: If you like this product, that’s great. For my wants/needs it just didn’t work out (detailed below). This in no way means I won’t buy anything else from the brand or that the brand itself is bad. If I dislike a product because it didn’t work for me, please don’t take that to mean I’m attacking the brand. I also encourage you to make your own judgements as to whether or not you will try this out. I am simply just sharing my experience with this particular product—again, no shade or hate for the brand. For me, this product is a pass, but I look forward to trying out other products from this brand. Let’s get into the review.

PROS:

✔Vegan & Great Ingredients ✔ Great Shade Range ✔ Decent Price for Product ✔Cute Packaging ✔Durable ✔Travel Friendly CONS: -Weird Smell

-If you put too much makeup on it patches off -If you have any dry patches on your face it’ll cling to them

-Too much effort into making this work for me

-Longevity of product isn’t there

Let’s start off with the pros. First things first, I love the fact that this has great ingredients and a great shade range. Next, for the amount of product you get I think the price is on par with higher end foundations. The packaging is also nice, simple, and sleek. I do think because of the tube it’s travel friendly and hassle free. I’ve dropped it, traveled with it, and I’ve never had any issues with product spilling, exploding, spoiling, etc. Now, does the product work? Well, sort of... Here is where I will leave this to your own personal decision (much like anything else) if you should buy this or not. Personally, I don’t think I would repurchase this. Not because it’s awful, but it just didn’t meet all of my needs. Let me explain.

The cons. Let’s begin with the simplest of cons- it smells weird. I’m not even sure how to explain the scent, but I don’t like it, so there that is. Now, when I initially put this on how I normally would with any other foundation, CC cream, BB cream and the like, I used the same brush, the same primer, and the same products I normally layer. If you put “too much makeup on” this foundation probably isn’t for you. What do I mean by this? Well, if you (like me) put on primer, foundation, powder, concealer, bronzer, contour, blush, and highlighter (not to mention some people put on even more things), this doesn’t layer as well. In the first couple of hours (say two or three), you look GOOD. You’re glowing, even. But then, it’s a mess. Things start to patch off, AND if you have the slightest bit of peach fuzz or a dry spot area, it will cling on to it for dear life. I think this foundation worked for me on the day I simply put powder and blush on top- that’s it. So, if you’re a minimal kind of gal, if you love to look super natural, if you don’t use a lot of skincare or a lot of makeup, MAYBE this will work for you. I say maybe because even on the days I put NO skincare and just a few products, it still had trouble staying on and not patching off funny. So essentially, if I do a really, REALLY minimal look I can get maybe four to five hours of decent wear time. Nothing beyond that. It also didn’t control my oil in any way, so this is a foundation (if you’re oily like me) you would have to pair with a primer. The coverage is decent, it’s definitely more on the natural end of things but you can build it up I’d say. It does cover redness if that’s a concern of yours. All in all, the longevity wasn’t there, I don’t like the fact that I can’t go full glam with this foundation and pair it with my layers of makeup I normally tend to do, I’d have to use a decent amount of product to get the coverage I want, it’s really tricky to land on a day where this doesn’t cling to peach fuzz, a dry spot, a pimple and the like, and all in all, although it’s a nice, natural looking product (for a few hours), I think it’s too much work to make it work, you know? I have many other foundations that I can apply and make work with ease, which is why for me, this product probably wouldn’t be getting repurchased again. If you want a foundation to even out your skin tone and one where you just need to look cute for a few hours (maybe brunch?) then perhaps this would be a good fit, but anything aside that, I think there’s better out there.
