Product Claims/Notes:

What it is: An intensely-bold lip stain that’s hydrating, long-wearing, and lightweight, with easy control and waterproof wear. This high-impact, low-maintenance lip stain lays down vibrant, bold color with a satin-matte finish. It combines the precision of a lipstick, the hydration of a balm, and the long-wearing color of a stain. Highlighted Ingredients: - Passionflower Oil: Nurtures lips and provides vitamins A and C. - Coconut Oil: Helps seal in moisture. - Sunflower Seed Wax: Locks in moisture and color for all-day wear.

A Few Standards:

What do I want out of my lip stain? First and foremost, it must be vegan and cruelty free. I will try any lip stain in terms of brand, formulation, and packaging. I normally prefer to have a couple of good lip stains in my rotation as their staying power is normally amazing. I want my lip stain to stay on for a long time, I don't want it to smear and bleed everywhere, I don't want it to be patchy, and most of all, I don't want it to dry out my lips or make them worse in any way. Side bar- I am fine with scented lip products, so long as it doesn't taste full of chemicals, I'm good. Lastly, it must be opaque, which is just a fancy word for saying the product has good colour payoff. Bonus points if it’s organic, ethically made, and environmentally friendly.

So, full disclaimer. At this point, out of the three shades available I had tried two (now, three), and ALL of them have been a huge hit. My personal favourite is the pink shade and the red shade. Though I do love the orange shade I don’t think it’s AS flattering on me as these two. You can see my review and pictures on each shade when you look at my website.

Wear time: As a lipstick, I get three to four hours out of this before I have to reapply. As a stain (intended use), I get a solid eight hours. I have gotten more out of it, but the norm is 7-8 hours on MY lips. On the days I ate super oily, greasy items, it stayed on but not nearly as much- obviously.

What You Need To Know:

The formulation on this is superb. It’s MOISTURIZING, it dries down (after a while, I’ll come back to this), and the colour is super pretty. Good company, good ingredients, good packaging, AND it doesn’t smear everywhere? What more is a girl to ask for?

So, there isn’t much of a scent in my opinion so that’s perfect for people sensitive to scent, the lippie is super moisturizing, it does dry down and there’s a few shades (three) to choose from. I think this red shade can be flattering on a lot of people and it’s the perfect POP OF COLOUR. This red is good as a stain or as a layered lip look. Perfect for summer and perfect for holidays. Now, I use this two ways. When I said it dries down after a while –I mean when you layer it like a madwoman (aka, how I did it). So initially, I didn’t know it was supposed to dry down, so I just layered and layered but one day I was running late, so I just put a swipe or so on and when I went to the bathroom I noticed the stain and was like OH, HELLO THERE! So here are my two ways I use this item: as a stain (as intended), and as a glamorous, moisturizing lipstick. If you use this as a stain, put one or two coats on and you’re ready to go. Option two is to put on SEVERAL coats and you’ll get the most PLUMP, JUICY, DELICIOUS LOOKING LIPS EVER. It doesn’t exaggerate dry flakes or lines on your lips, so it’s PERFECT. The good thing about this is it provides you with two looks—you start off looking glowy, glossy and plumpy and after SEVERAL hours, it does dry down (after all, I may have put on like 10 coats), to a nice stain so you get two different looks. Hopefully that made sense, I can’t tell over my excitement. But essentially, in a nutshell, it works as a lip stain and if you want to get crazy with it, as a plump, juicy lipstick.

It doesn’t smear, it does dry down (it only takes a while if you use the other method as I mentioned), it doesn’t exaggerate texture/lines, it doesn’t have a weird taste, it’s extremely moisturizing, and again, the colour is bomb.com. I think you guys get it—THIS STUFF IS AWESOME.
