This in no way means I won’t buy anything else from the brand or that the brand itself is bad. If I dislike a product because it didn’t work for me, please don’t take that to mean I’m attacking the brand. I also encourage you to make your own judgements as to whether or not you will try this out. I am simply just sharing my experience with this particular product—again, no shade or hate for the brand. For me, this product is a pass, but I look forward to trying out other products from this brand. Let’s get into the review.

A Few Standards:

What do I want out of my face cream/moisturizer? First, and most importantly, my cream has to be vegan, cruelty-free, and huge bonus points if the company makes efforts towards the recycling of the item, if it’s ethically made, if it’s organic, and if packaging is well thought of. My face cream has to deliver results. It must do what it claims it will do, after all, that’s why I’m buying it. When it comes to texture, I will try anything: whipped, gel, cream, lotion and/or ointment form. Packaging isn’t much of a concern since I will try just about anything, however, I do always prefer a pump. I like my day cream to be light, not leave a greasy feel, and absorb into my skin fast since I do have to put on makeup and get going. I also look out for hypoallergenic and fragrance-free moisturizers. I don’t mind any scent as long as it’s not so overpowering that it gives me a headache. Again, the cream must do what it claims, and it can’t cause any irritation or breakouts. No clogged pores and no breakouts here, ladies.

Unfortunately, though I love many Boscia products, this is not one of them. I love the ingredients, and the packaging is sleek and cute, but at the end of the day, the product itself doesn’t work. Let me explain.

Initially, I wanted to use this for daytime since I want something quick, hydrating and easy. Well, it doesn’t matter HOW much I apply, it just doesn’t sink into my skin. It sits on the top layer and refuses to absorb! It makes me feel heavy and sticky, and when I try putting it under makeup—forget about it. I tried using this during daytime on its own and it just won’t sink in and it’s not a comfortable feeling—you feel like a globby, sticky mess. When I applied an even smaller amount and then put primer/makeup, that too was a disaster. It piles up and crumbles off as if your skin is peeling from a sunburn—not cute and not fun to re-do your makeup. I then tried using this at nighttime only, but that too didn’t work. It didn’t absorb and since my face was tacky the whole time my face would stick to the pillow. All in all, because of the absorption issue, I will not be using this again. It DOESN’T matter if you use this during the day or night, with or without makeup, it just doesn’t absorb. I tried for several days and nights and couldn’t get past more than a week of test time since it just made me feel so sticky and tacky. I will be passing, and I would not recommend this.
