Review:

I like to offer as much detail as possible on a product so you can make the best decision possible on where you’re putting your money. If you’d like to know if I recommend something or not, and you don’t want to read the full details, you can always gauge by the pro and cons section in addition to if there’s a disclaimer on this blog. When the disclaimer is up, it normally means the product did not work out for me and that I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

*This product is vegan, cruelty free, organic and recyclable.*

Kopari has created a really interesting product, that I currently am very, very into, and would recommend. It’s an illuminating and depuffing eye balm that comes in a very sleek, cute package, that also happens to be recyclable. Huge win. Let’s get into the details.

Let’s start with the cons since there’s only two. The first true con (since the second may be different depending on your age, skin type, etc.), is that if you travel somewhere hot and bring this (as I did), the texture changes a bit (if left in a hot area). I brought this with me in my bag by the pool and when I went to use it, the texture was much oilier and slimier, so though it applied just the same, I think this product should be kept away from the heat, sun, and very hot areas in general. I do not store this product in my bathroom as an example. The second con, which applies to me only, is that I didn’t notice an improvement in my fine lines and wrinkles, however, since I did notice an improvement in my dark circles, it's still a win for me (and the other positives I’ll list in a minute).

Now, onto the positives, and the reasons I LOVE this product. The Pros. This product has much to love. First things first, the ingredients are amazing, as always vegan and cruelty free, and to add, organic and recyclable. This product is travel friendly and very durable (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped it and it’s never broken or cracked). I think the brand is awesome, the product is great, the packaging is on point, and most skin types I feel can use this product. Now, the nitty gritty. Let’s start off with the smell. If you aren’t into scent, I think you can still try this because the scent is very, very minimal. When smelling it from the pan I had to practically shove my nose in the product to see if I could pick up a scent (for the sake of this blog, don’t do that on the regular), and there was a little hint of rose. Now when the product is warmed up between your fingertips and emulsified, the scent is a bit more apparent: again, still light, and very minimal, but that of a rose. So normally, if you aren’t into scent I’d say stay away, but for this product, I think you might still get to enjoy it, because again, and not to ramble, it’s very, very minimal. Also, I love roses. So, for me, win, win. When it comes to the formulation, I think it’s very unique and has a lot of great ingredients. I didn’t experience any reactions or breakouts whilst using this. When it comes to the texture, it’s a bit of a solid, but once you rub your finger in it (your clean finger), and start to swirl it around a few times, it warms up and is this very silky, creamy, soft texture. I love it. The colour in the pan is a light pink/apricot shade, but when applied, it goes on clear (if I get heavy handed, I think there’s a light, light pink hue). My under-eye area does appear to look brighter and due to its reflective qualities, I like the look it gives. The finish is a nice, silky sheen. I do not find this to be oily or greasy (unless you get very heavy handed; if you layer too much it can get a bit oilier since the product warms up with your skin).

This product is soft, silky, reflective, moisturizing, and a joy to put on. The starry eye balm does dry down fairly quickly and you’re left with a beautiful, reflective sheen (it’s not oily or shiny, if it is to you, use LESS). Once you rub it in, the under-eye area looks fabulous. Also, to mention, and maybe I should have led with this, but I think you get it, a little bit goes a long way. Do not pile tons and tons and tons on: if you do, you will look oily and shiny, and I doubt makeup would apply well after that if you’re using it as a base. So, though I always say, more is more, I think in this instance, start small. Use less. Lastly, in my experience, I did see an improvement with my dark circles, and my under-eye area was always looking much better and left feeling softer. I have applied this alone and under makeup and it works just as great. Under my makeup it gives a brightening effect and makes my concealer and foundation sit on top very seamlessly: I didn’t have creasing. When using this product alone, I still saw a brightening effect, it felt very soft under my eyes and the product was very reflective, which I enjoy. In the end, I think this product is great!
