Nature's Elements: Natural Deodorant

#LINAREVIEWS Nature’s Elements Natural Deodorant: Rosemary Mint

Price: $12.99 CAD

DISCLAIMER: If you like this product, that’s great. For my wants/needs it just didn’t work out (detailed below). This in no way means I won’t buy anything else from the brand or that the brand itself is bad. If I dislike a product because it didn’t work for me, please don’t take that to mean I’m attacking the brand. I also encourage you to make your own judgements as to whether or not you will try this out. I am simply just sharing my experience with this particular product—again, no shade or hate for the brand. For me, this product is a pass, but I look forward to trying out other products from this brand. Let’s get into the review.

A Few Standards:

What do I want out of my deodorant? First and foremost, it must be vegan, cruelty free and has to be aluminum free. I do prefer stick format, but I will try any formulation and any packaging—it can be a cream, in a tub, roll-on, stick, etc. My deodorant has to last me throughout my day and ensure I don’t stink. I want my deodorant to have a scent (any scent will do, I’m not picky), but I will still try scent-free from time to time for the sake of this blog. Bonus points if it’s organic, ethically made, and environmentally friendly. More bonus points if it doesn’t leave marks on my blouse/shirt though not a deal breaker. I also prefer to not have to reapply it more than twice within a day. Deal breaker: If I get a rash, reaction, or break out under my armpits.

Review:

*This product is vegan, cruelty free and free of parabens and aluminum.*

Pros:

  • Vegan

  • Cruelty Free

  • Spray Bottle

  • Nice, Simple Packaging

  • Decent Size and Smell

  • Spray Nozzle Sprays a Nice Mist

Cons:

  • Pricy

  • Didn’t Work

Let’s start off with the pros since there are several. Please note that just because this product didn’t work out for me doesn’t mean it won’t work out for you. If you’d like to test it out, please feel free. The spray bottle is a very decent size and has simple packaging which I enjoy. The scent is just as the bottle claims—rosemary and mint, so if you aren’t a fan of that kind of smell, you might not enjoy this. The spray nozzle works wonderfully—it distributes a fine mist evenly and if you’d like to do a few layers, know that you can.

Now, sadly, the cons. Unfortunately, this deodorant didn’t work out for me. I wanted it to because of its convenient packaging, but it just didn’t leave me smelling nice. The consistency of the deodorant is a thin mist (which is fine), but I layered it on to ensure it would work. Upon spraying some within an hour I’d start smelling. I’d go back and reapply throughout the day but once you start smelling sweat—it’s hard to make it smell good no matter what you put on. I also find the price point a bit steep—I think there are better quality deodorants that are a bit less than this and actually work. For me, this product is a pass.
