IMPORTANT:

****It’s important for me to note that if you are starting a “clean” deodorant you need to give it about 10-14 days before making a judgement call because you will be detoxing (which means you’ll be stinky). If you’ve been using clean deodorants for over a month or more, you’ll clearly be able to tell if your deodorant is working or not, but if not, give yourself time to detox. I strongly urge you to switch your deodorant to a cleaner one—there’s endless studies done to show the ingredients currently in our deodorants are NOT good. I have tried MANY deodorants which can be located in the body care tab of this blog, so you can find one that works for you! Get rid of those pesky chemicals, girl. ***

A Few Standards:

What do I want out of my deodorant? First and foremost, it must be vegan, cruelty free and has to be aluminum free. I do prefer stick format, but I will try any formulation and any packaging—it can be a cream, in a tub, roll-on, stick, etc. My deodorant has to last me throughout my day and ensure I don’t stink. I want my deodorant to have a scent (any scent will do, I’m not picky), but I will still try scent-free from time to time for the sake of this blog. Bonus points if it’s organic, ethically made, and environmentally friendly. More bonus points if it doesn’t leave marks on my blouse/shirt though not a deal breaker because I can wait for it to dry. I also prefer to not have to reapply it (if I do have to reapply it, I don’t wish to more than twice within a day). Deal breaker: If I get a rash, reaction, or break out severely under my armpits.

Review:

**This product is vegan, cruelty free, gluten free, soy free, alcohol free, aluminum free and free of parabens and phthalates. It’s also hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. **

Pros: ✔Cute Packaging ✔Smells Amazing ✔Actually Works ✔Huge, So It Should Last You A Long Time ✔Convenient For Travel

✔Mess Free

Cons: ✔Depending On Your Budget May Be Pricy ✔May Need to Reapply

Tarte’s Clean Queen Vegan Deodorant was a personal win for me, I love, love this deodorant.

Let’s start off with the cons. This deodorant may be viewed as pricy depending on your budget and what you’d personally spend on clean ingredients, with that said, you have to weigh out the pros and cons. The only other con I found is that after the 7-hour mark I did have to reapply the deodorant, so depending on your body odour, activity level, etc., you may need to reapply this. For me, I only have to reapply it once (and not always), so it’s no big deal to me. The packaging is also super sturdy, so I can easily bring it with me if need be.

Now, my favourite, the pros. This is a great natural deodorant that’s non-irritating and full of natural odour neutralizers. I found that it conditioned my underarms and kept me smelling good without any harsh chemicals. I find the Tarte deodorant to be very visually appealing, it has great colours and I love that it’s stick form. I can throw it in my work bag if need be and I can also fit it in my luggage when I travel. I also find the stick to be HUUUUUGE, it’s always lasted me a long time. I’ve already used this deodorant twice in the span of a year, so my review is based on using it for a long, long time. So, the packaging is cute, sturdy, and can go anywhere, and the actual product? It’s awesome. The deodorant smells fresh, crisp and clean, with a light, and I mean LIGHT, vanilla smell. It’s so subtle, which makes me really enjoy the scent (I don’t like the heavy, fake smelling vanillas, personally). When I initially apply it, I do have to wait a minute or so for it to dry down a bit. For me personally, it stays wet quite a while (I’d say about ten minutes), before it actually dries down, but I don’t mind. I got the best wear time of up to 7-hours. Once I get past that, a light odour begins, and I did need to reapply. The majority of the time, I didn’t need to reapply, but on the very hot days I did, I got away with reapplying once. This Tarte deodorant worked for me, I find it smells good, looks cute, so all in all, I’d highly recommend trying this out. Again, give this some time (about a week or two) if you are coming from a “typical” deodorant, because you will detox. Another tip I can give is to put a heavy layer on initially, then if you need to reapply, do so. For me, in the future, this is definitely going to be repurchased.
