A Few Standards:

What do I want out of my spray? First, and most importantly, it has to be vegan, cruelty-free, natural, as chemical free as possible, and huge bonus points if the company makes efforts towards the recycling of the item, if it’s ethically made, organic, if the packaging is well thought of, and if its spray nob distributes product evenly. Lastly, it simply must do what it claims which is why I’m buying it.

My Hair Type: Curly, Thick, Coloured and Processed. I straighten and curl often. My natural hair colour is a very dark brown, almost jet black, and I’ve been several shades; pink, purple, green, etc. I’m currently blonde.

DISCLAIMER: If you like this product, that’s great. For my wants/needs it just didn’t work out (detailed below). This in no way means I won’t buy anything else from the brand or that the brand itself is bad. If I dislike a product because it didn’t work for me, please don’t take that to mean I’m attacking the brand. I also encourage you to make your own judgements as to whether or not you will try this out. I am simply just sharing my experience with this particular product—again, no shade or hate for the brand. For me, this product is a pass, but I look forward to trying out other products from this brand. Let’s get into the review.

Review:

***This product is vegan, cruelty free and free of parabens and phthalates. It’s also free of talc, alcohol and synthetic fragrance.***

Pros: ✔Can Work For Many Hair Types ✔Great Ingredients ✔Cute Packaging ✔Travel Friendly

Cons: ✔Didn’t Work For Me ✔Weird Smell ✔Pricy

As you can tell by my disclaimer, this unfortunately did not work out for me. I had high, high hopes for this, especially because I even bought it for a friend. I will reach out to her and see if she likes it, but for me personally, this product didn’t work out.

Let’s start with the pros. This vegan, hair-texturizing spray is loaded with sea salt for easy, windswept, mermaid waves and has a ton of great ingredients. I especially like that there’s no alcohol nor fragrance. I also like the spray nozzle, I found it really easy to use! It can work for many different hair types, it has cute packaging, and I do think it’s travel friendly.

Now, the cons. Despite all the awesomeness in appearance, the product itself didn’t work out for me, despite endless attempts. It made no visible change in my hair, whether texture, or appearance. I also find that it weighed my hair down and it has an odd smell. It kind of smells like water and salt to me, but with a funky smell, so I’m not into it. I could get past the smell if it made my hair awesome, but it didn’t. I also feel it is a bit pricy so that’s my opinion on that. If you’d like to still give it a try, please feel free, it may work out for you! To check out my hair type, refer to the above. More #Tarte blogs coming!
